Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 quarts filtered water
  • 6 tea bags (preferably Luzianne)
  • 12 cups seeded watermelon chunks
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to boil until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and steep tea bags for 15 minutes.
  2. Blend watermelon chunks with lime juice until smooth, then strain if desired.
  3. Remove tea bags from sweet tea base and combine with watermelon puree in a pitcher. Stir well.
  4. Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves if desired.
